Renato, PY8WW, plans to be active as HD4W from Cojimies Island, Ecuador, on 15–22 November 2026. The island belongs to the Esmeraldas Province Group — IOTA SA-056.
The project has been in planning since the beginning of the year, but for months the key missing piece was the operating licence. With help from the Quito Radio Club the licensing is now done and the DXpedition is confirmed: flights are booked, local transport has been rented and radio and antenna planning is complete.
Bands and modes
Activity is planned on 40 through 6 metres, CW and SSB, plus FT8 when propagation calls for a digital mode. The aim is to put HD4W on as many bands and modes as possible.
SA-056 is still a relatively rare one: according to GDXF/IOTA Most Wanted figures, about 7.9% of chasers have it confirmed over the last five years, 8.5% over ten years and 8.7% all-time.
Log and QSL
