The Belgian Rockall DX Group is preparing a DXpedition to Guinea. According to the team, ten operators from Belgium and the Netherlands plan to be on the air as 3X4U on 11–23 November 2026 from the shore of Lac de Koba.
The licence has been issued, with permission to run up to 1 kW on all bands. Guinea remains a sought-after DXCC entity, especially on the low bands, so the team promises to pay particular attention to difficult paths and to regions where Guinea is hard to work.
Bands and modes
Activity is planned on 160–6m using CW, SSB, FT8 and RTTY, with the main focus on CW and SSB. For 6m the team has a home-built 7-element LFA Yagi, and a dedicated SDR receiver will keep a constant watch on the band for openings.
Equipment
Five identical stations will be on the air: Elecraft K3 transceivers with Expert 1.3K-FA amplifiers. Antennas include two hexbeams, phased verticals for 30m, a 4-square for 40m, verticals for 60, 80 and 160m, a 5-element beam for 10m and a Yagi for 6m. The team also includes a medical assistant; ON9CFG is the pilot station.
QSL
QSL via M0URX, preferably through OQRS. You can request a direct card or a LoTW-only confirmation; the full log will be uploaded to LoTW after six months.
