John, W5JON, will once again be on the air from St. Kitts as V47JA. Activity is planned for 28 October – 6 November 2026 from the Calypso Bay area. The island is part of the St. Kitts & Nevis DXCC entity and counts as IOTA NA-104.
Bands and modes
John plans to operate SSB and FT8 on 160 through 6 metres. For low-band and 6 m chasers, it is a good chance to log V4 during the autumn season.
Equipment
- Yaesu FT-3000D transceiver and Elecraft KPA500 amplifier;
- Mosley MP-32N beam for 10/15/20 m;
- 33 ft (approx. 10 m) vertical for 10–160 m;
- 6 m Yagi.
